There a million new reasons a year people will want to buy this book. Each year 1.4 million people are diagnosed with cancer. Most of them choose to go through chemotherapy and related treatments and few of them have any idea of what to expect. Neither did we. That is the simple reason for this book. We were overwhelmed—nobody else need be.

Judith Bowman

The Fiery Furnace of CancerA Survival Guide for Families Coping with Cancer

This informative book provides a balanced approach to the question: “Cancer has touched my family; now what do I do?”

When cancer rears its ugly head, the worst outcome is often imagined and a sense of hopelessness tries to press in. That was Judith’s experience when she and her husband learned their seven-year-old daughter, Sarah, had a malignant muscle tumor.

Without suggesting her book is one-of-a-kind, Judith shares her experience in seeking answers to what lay ahead for her and her family as they anticipated going through cancer treatment with their daughter. In their search, she and her husband found no books that simply told them what to expect day to day through the process, so Judith wrote one. “If we had access to a book like this, many of our fears and much of our anxiety would have been alleviated,” she said. In The Fiery Furnace of Cancer, Judith Bowman shares her hands-on experience dealing with oncologists, hospitals, child protective services and the many aspects of standard cancer treatment.

Included in this 132 page book are several questions to ask an oncologist to help you decide at the outset if this is the doctor you want to treat your loved one. Also included are helpful web sites and contact numbers for the many individuals and organizations that exist to help families deal with the rigors of modern cancer treatment.

Judith ministers alongside her husband, Ted Bowman, seminars and conferences. However, she wrote this book as a mother of a child with a life-threatening disease. Her book, The Fiery Furnace of Cancer, was born out of a passionate desire to help families of cancer victims deal successfully with the stress and rigors of standard cancer treatment.
